Union Transport, Highway Ministry approved Odisha’s proposal to set up Highway Haat at Pipili-Raghurajpur

New Delhi: Union Transport, Highway Ministry approved Odisha Government’s proposal for Highway Haat at Pipili-Raghurajpur. Union Minister Road Transport, Highway and Shipping Nitin Gadkari in a letter to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has informed that the proposal for wayside amenity with a Highway Haat at Pipili-Raghurajpur has been approved. Secondly, the need of a bypass at Brahmapur along with a truck terminal would be fulfilled by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway, Gadkari has assured. Gadkari has stated that his Ministry is developing international quality National Highways and considering setting up of world-class wayside amenities for road users on the NHS

Setting up of a wayside amenity and a Highway Haat at Pipili-Raghurajpur would be taken up by the Ministry once 35 acres of land is earmarked and transferred to the Ministry, Gadkari has said. Similarly, a bypass at Brahmapur along with a truck terminal would also be taken up when land is made available for the project, said he. He has stated that his Ministry is implementing the National Highway Development Programme (NHDP) Phase VII for construction of bypasses to decongest the cities from heavy vehicular traffic and pollution.
